We are happy to announce the release of ExploitFixer 2.2.2, codenamed Delta Charlie. This update fixes an error that occurred when processing custom payloads in outdated netty 1.8 servers. For better performance and security, we recommend installing FlamePaper instead of using old netty versions.

This update improves the plugin’s ability to detect and prevent various exploits that can crash or damage servers. It also fixes some bugs and adds compatibility with Arclight. However, it requires regenerating the configuration files to work properly.

The ChatComponent crasher exploit works by sending a book with too many ChatComponent tags, which makes the decoder overload and freeze the server.
Exploitfixer decodes the packet before Spigot does to intercept crash packets before they reach the Minecraft decoder.
