April Fools: Xenforo Migration

This was a april fools joke. Don't worry! Polymart will stay custom, forever :)

It's been almost a year since Polymart has been open to the public, and, thanks to all of your constant feedback and suggestions, we've been making some really amazing feedback along the way. Just a few weeks ago Polymart released bundles, and we've been hard at work improving the developer API. We also just released a Discord Bot!

But, the progress won't stop there, and that's why I'm excited to announce that, starting today, Polymart will be migrating to Xenforo — a popular corporate product that delivers industry-standard solutions for online forum marketplaces and other SaSS enterprises. In fact, most other Minecraft marketplaces, including SpigotMC, use Xenforo. As Polymart continues to grow, we think now is the perfect time to upgrade to the quality corporate software that Spigot and other websites across the internet depend on.

Xenforo is plug-and-play, so the migration was easy! We really have no need to alter any of the default settings.

We'll be rolling out the changes slowly over the coming week. Starting today, you'll be able to use the time-tested Xenforo search bar — the one you know and love from Spigot. What are you waiting for? Try out the search bar now!

Although these features haven't been migrated yet, here's a few of the other changes you can look forward to over the coming days:

• No need to manage teams! Teams will be done with one shared user account — there's no more need to constantly add people to the team! Just share the account password
• A new "sort by title" option, so you can alphabetically sort all of the resources on Polymart
• No more need for an updates tab on resources! Updates are posted directly in the resource discussion
• A streamlined API — we're able to keep up with our competitors, and remove a lot of the filler API actions. Now, all you need to worry about are /v2/getResourceAuthor, which will give you a resource author's username and Discord account, and /v2/getResource, which will give you the title and price of certain resources
• A 100-character limit on resource titles, so you can add as many of certain emojis as you'd like!
• A new review process, which will only take about 4-6 weeks, depending on staff availability. If your resource is rejected, just re-submit and someone should review it within another 4-6 weeks!
• Useful stats on the sidebar like 'Most Resources' and 'Longest Biographies'

I'm super excited about these new improvements, and I know you'll love them! We're looking forward to migrating all of Polymart over to Xenforo, and hope to re-add support for Stripe by the end of 2022.
